Web 2.0 For Online Publications (Not Just for Web Geeks)

What is Web 2.0? How can you and why should you create an online community? What about blogs, wikis, dynamic content and the rest of the alphabet soup of technical jargon (RSS, XML, AJAX)? How can you improve your site's navigation?

ABOUT THE TALK

We will try to answer these questions and discuss how this evolving platform can be applied to an online publication to build loyal readership, increase interactions and enhance a publication's value. To this end, we'll take a look at a few of the best and worst of online magazine sites, identifying technologies used and any unique characteristics.

To bring the conversation to a more focused point, we'll consider a few recommended best practices for online publications as they transition with the rest of the web.

This will be an interactive discussion, so come with relevant questions.
