Soros Foundation Names Digital Pulp To Build Web Site
New York, NY - Digital Pulp, a New York-based advertising and Web development firm, won web development responsibilities for the Soros Foundation. The Soros Foundation through the Open Society Institute, was founded in 1979 by investor and philanthropist George Soros. The Open Society Institute is part of an informal network of foundations and organizations active in more than 50 countries worldwide. It is a non profit grant making foundation that develops and implements a range of programs in civil society, education, media, public health and human and women's rights as well as social, legal and economic reform. The soros.org web site serves as a portal to the entire network of foundations and programs. Digital Pulp won the assignment following a review against an undisclosed group of web development companies in New York. The site is scheduled to launch in early 2003.
"Digital Pulp's effort to understand the complexities of our organization as well as well as their strong portfolio of well designed and effective web sites made them an ideal partner. We needed a group that had a wide array of design, technology and business capabilities and Digital Pulp has all of that," said Maria Teresa Rojas, Associate Director of Communications, Open Society Institute. Ron Fierman, President of Digital Pulp, added " it's not often you get to work with an organization so dedicated to making the world a better place".
The plans for the site include an online unification of OSI's global programs and initiatives, a comprehensive integration with a Content Management System, and the creation of powerful tools for OSI's audience intended to further solidify the relationship between the Open Society Institute and the world that it seeks to help.
