Digital Pulp, the interactive marketing agency which represents the Make-A-Wish Foundation in its website development, has created a unique new donor recognition website for the Foundation designed to acknowledge the generosity of individual contributors. Titled 'Wishes Forever', the portal explains to donors of more than $150,000 how the Foundation is using their funds for wish-granting activities, shares stories of children's wishes, and creates a personalized, one-on-one experience for donors (the URL address is not for general public use).
"The 'Wishes Forever' website is an invaluable tool for the Foundation to maintain a close, personalized connection with our most generous donors," says Elizabeth LaBorde, Make-A-Wish Foundation of America Vice President of Development. "It enables us to show donors how their gifts are bringing joy to seriously ill children whose wishes are granted because of their generosity. It's also beneficial for donors because they can access the site at their leisure."
The site has several features that can be customized for individual donors, including a personalized video, a welcome message and a 'News' section with recent wish stories and photos to highlight the direct benefit of a donor's gift.
Other features include a section that provides financial information and charts about the Foundation and how funds are being used; a 'My Wishes' section with heartwarming stories of children's wishes fulfilled; and the 'My Account' category for a donor's specific contribution information.
"In our relationship with the Make-A-Wish Foundation, we always seek new avenues to reinforce the relationship between the public and the many kids who have immeasurable moments of joy as a result of its great work," says Ron Fierman, President, Digital Pulp. "It's smart business, especially these days, for philanthropies to be thinking out-of-the-box and developing ways to establish value-added elements that demonstrate appreciation to those who support these outstanding organizations."
The Make-A-Wish Foundation grants the wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions to enrich the human experience with hope, strength and joy. With the help of generous donors and nearly 25,000 volunteers, the Make-A-Wish Foundation grants a wish every 40 minutes and has granted more than 177,000 wishes in the United States since its inception.
