An app to drive sales with geolocated data.
Hologic upped the ante for accurate breast cancer screening with its Genius 3D mammography exam. Since the technology is new to many medical providers (and can cost more than 2D scans), the company wanted to give their sales force an easy-to-use app to demonstrate local consumer interest in high-tech screenings.
We built an app that layers maps with consumer interest in Genius 3D exams, using APIs from Apple Maps and Google Analytics for continually refreshed results. Reps can search by the name of a geographical area or by zip code and zoom in or out to reflect areas of interest; Zillow-like “intensity dots” represent user engagement per city. Tooltips on each dot display the number of people who have visited the Genius 3D consumer site since its launch. The app’s look and feel reflect the branding and photography on the current homepage; the “Learn More” link drives to the Genius 3D professional site.
The company distributed the app (downloadable with an access code) to every sales rep. Several hundred reps now use it nationwide, supplementing sales presentation decks with an interactive experience that reflects Hologic’s pioneering technology.
