Think possible: a new vision for a business education leader.
NYU’s Stern School of Business was suffering from similarity. It was being lumped in with other schools without offering any true differentiation. Most business school sites and experiences looked and felt the same and delivered the same basic messages to prospective students and the academic community. NYU Stern knew it was different, and wanted the site to make that clear.
When we looked at what made NYU Stern unique, we discovered that a business school located in the heart of the world of finance made many things possible. This idea of “possible” became a theme we evolved into a unique creative framework. Imagine Possible, Create Possible, Influence Possible – Stern could leverage this message architecture to highlight nearly anything on or off-campus. The site experience was boiled down to three simple sections, shepherding internal audiences to protected portals, while giving prospective audiences the ability to explore what it’s like to be at Stern. Visually, the site encourages exploration – rich imagery, an advanced front-end experience, and a heavy focus on ease-of-use embody bringing Possible to life.
We’re especially proud of this site — not just because it’s visually striking — but because the NYU Stern team gave us the freedom to make some radical recommendations and bring them to life. The resulting site is rich with a wide array of content, but it’s organized into manageable containers. The user experience is focused on the most relevant target audience: prospective students. The difficult decision to prioritize the audience model made the process of developing a relevance and focused user experience much easier.
