Quest Diagnostics is the world’s leading provider of diagnostic testing, information and services that patients and doctors need to make better healthcare decisions. Services range from routine testing (e.g. basic blood work, total cholesterol, white blood cell count, etc.) to complex, gene-based and molecular testing.
The primary Quest website had not been touched since 2001 and was in desperate need of an update. With three audiences (Patients, Physicians & Hospitals, and Companies & Organizations) Digital Pulp had to be very careful to serve each audience while keeping the experience intuitive and focused.
We built the new site from the ground up, focusing on giving users an intuitive path to answers and resources. To make the site feel as relevant as possible to the three key audiences, we developed a "Smart" home page – one that changes based on the click-stream of the user. If a user comes to the site and navigates to patient-focused content and features, we build a dynamic profile that delivers a more patient-weighted experience next time they return. The same goes for the other two audience groups; helping to streamline each user’s experience, and deliver the appropriate language and features that Quest felt will differentiate the company.
The new Quest website launched in the summer of 2012, and early feedback from Quest and from user group testing show that the redesign has improved the user experience dramatically and users are able to access the information most relevant to them more quickly and easily.
